478 Enhancing Technology Interface in the Dissection Room (DR)

Abstract Aim Anatomy teaching increasingly utilises technology alongside dissection to improve anatomy teaching. Student use of the touchscreen computers in sessions at University St. Andrews was infrequent, with students lacking confidence use. The aim this QI project medical student and increase DR during sessions. Method A data-collection tool designed tested. It included 4 Likert-style one blank space question. 111 baseline responses from 3rd-year were collected over 1 week November 2021. Documentation optimised for usage. Cycle 2 same cohort, 83 responses. second intervention introduced styluses. 3, 85 responses, collected. Results Question examined awareness function. Positive (agree strongly agree) increased 76.5% 95.2%, then 97.7% after interventions respectively. question 2, examining confidence, improved 53.2% 88.0%, 96.5%. frequency use, 49.6% 91.6% 92.9%. 4, how useful touchscreens learning, 70.3% 94.0%, 97.7%. Blank questions demonstrated positive opinions changes made room. Conclusions significant sustained regarding usefulness as an adjunct improvement facilities educational experience.
